CCS students & POPC church members age 3 (by January 1) through rising 6th graders!!

We are open Monday - Friday 7:30 am to 5:30 pm all summer long. Children may be dropped off at Camp Outback any time before 4:00 p.m.

Preschool Camp Outback

Preschool Camp Outback will be headquartered in the Nursery building from 9:00-4:00. Preschool Camp Outback is for rising P3-KS, who are age 3 by Jan. 1, 2019. From 9:00-4:00 Monday-Friday, preschoolers will have their own separate program and will occasionally join "Big Outback" for special activities! From 7: 30-9:00 am and 4:00-5:30 pm each day, preschoolers will be with the older children in the Multipurpose Building. To drop off or pick up your preschooler between 9:00-4:00, please come to the Nursery building. For pick up times after 4:00, please come to the Multipurpose Building.

SEW FUN STUDIOS May 29-31 | 9 A.M. - 12 P.M. Cost: $135 Rising 1st-4th | Lacey Fondren

Join Sew Fun Studios at CCS for a fun filled 3 day Beach Getaway camp. Sew Fun Studios teachers will lead you every step of the way as you applique a beach towel and sew an amazing beach bag. All materials are provided including use of sewing supplies, fabrics, and child friendly sewing machines. Students should bring a peanut free snack and drink each day.

BRICKS FOR KIDZ May 29-31 | 9 A.M. - 12 P.M. Cost: $105 Rising 2nd-5th | Lacey Fondren

Join Bricks for Kidz at CCS for the "Best of the Best" Lego Camp. We'll build our favorite motorized Lego models using a variety of LEGO­building techniques, including motorized Lego models and mosaics. Camp includes Lego mini models and daily craft projects. Campers should bring a peanut free snack and drink each day.

DRUMLINE June 3-6 Cost: $120 | Mr. Lane Beasley

Lower School Camp: Rising 3rd - 5th, 9 am - 12 pm. The number one objective of this camp is to HAVE FUN! Lower School Drumline camp will be a time for campers to learn some basic rhythm & beats. Campers will spend some time learning how to hold drum sticks, where to hit the drum, and learn how to play the school drums in pep rallies.

Middle School Camp: Rising 6th-8th, 1 pm - 4 pm. Middle School campers will learn some basic and intermediate drum beats. Students will learn how to hold the sticks, where to hit the drum, and how to perform some drum maintenance. This group will challenge themselves by learning some creative routines. This camp will also utilize the school drums from our pep rallies, as well as an African djembe drum to learn some acoustic worship style percussion options.

ADVANCED TECH JUNE 17-20 | 9 A.M. - 12 P.M. Cost: $120 Rising 5th-8th | Mr. Brandon Slay

Bring your imagination to life as you design and print in 3D using Tinkercad and two models of 3D printers. This camp will also include some virtual reality design aided elements. Students will be able to print and take their 3D designs home.

POTTERY JUNE 17-20 | 9 A.M. - 12 P.M. Cost: $120 Rising 2nd-5th | Mrs. Dominique Jordan

Come join us for a week of creating with clay! During pottery camp, students will have fun learning basic hand-building and glazing techniques while making their own unique animal sculpture. We'll also create functional pieces such as a mug and vase. This class is geared toward the beginner, and students will get to make at least three ceramic pieces. Pieces will be available to take home the following week after they have been fired in the kiln.

THE MYSTERY OF THE WARDROBE June 24-27 | 9 A.M. - 12 P.M. Cost: $120 Rising 4th-5th | Mrs. Annette Reiter

This camp explores "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" and "Prince Caspian" (required summer readings for 5th grade students). These two books must be purchased and brought to camp each day. Camp will include Reading Club with discussion on the books' literal and symbolism meanings, Worldview, Creative Writing through character synopsis and diary writings, and Creative Arts through drama and visual art.

DANCE June 24-27 | 9 A.M. - 12 P.M. Cost: $120 Rising 4th-8th | Ms. Julienne Pilcher & Mrs. Julie Pilcher

Dance camp is a four day camp open to 4th through 8th grade girls who are interested in dancing their hearts out! Each day will be comprised of learning how to stretch properly for dancing, basic technique involving turns, jumps, and kicks. We will play games and learn a short, fun dance routine using these newly learned skills. Camp includes at-shirt. Daily snacks and drinks will be provided. Instructor Julienne Pilcher will lead this class. Julienne has taken years of dance classes at MMDA, spent 4 years on the dance team at MRA, and is now on the Pom Squad at Millsaps.

PHOTOGRAPHY July 8-11 | 9 A.M. - 12 P.M. Cost: $120 Rising 4th-8th | Mr. Grant Gilliam

This camp will cover photography concepts including lighting, lines, color, rule of 3rds, shutter speed, etc. We will touch the basics of film cameras, digital cameras, and camera phones. Campers will learn the history of photography and look at some previous tools used in the past including polaroid and film cameras. We'll incorporate a biblical worldview as we seek to take photos that glorify God. This camp takes time to discuss important questions including, "What is good photography from a biblical basis?," "What about the Christian photographer and lnstagram?," and "How can we be artists who reflect the ultimate artist, God?"

ART FOR KIDS July 8-11 | 9 A.M. - 12 P.M. Cost: $120 4 year olds-Rising 1st | Mr. Grant Gilliam

Join us this summer for one creative week of art! We will spend four days exploring different types of art media including watercolor, clay pieces, and special craft projects. Come and get creative with us!

1ST GRADE FISHY FUN July 22-26 | 9 A.M. - 12 P.M. Cost: $120 Rising 1st | Mrs. Soyrietta Valentine

This four-day camp will help prepare campers for a fantastic start to first grade. Students will brush up on phonics, math, and handwriting skills. We will fine tune skills needed to work independently in first grade while having lots of fun! Snacks are included.

CROCHETING July 22-25 | 9 A.M. - 12 P.M. Cost: $120 Rising 3rd-8th | Mrs. Gilliam

Do you like crafts? Creating things with your hands? Making items you can enjoy or give to others? Join Mrs. Gilliam this summer for a crocheting class! Campers will learn the basics of crocheting. By working on fun projects using a a variety of fun yarn colors and styles, students will learn all the skills needed to continue making their own crochet wonders all summer.
